How do you install the test build?
- If you plan to bring an existing world, first keep a separate backup of its game files. The untouched backup and the working test copy must be different files.
- In the Minecraft Launcher, open Java Edition → Installations and enable snapshots.
- Select exactly 26.4 Snapshot 2 for your test installation. Choosing a later snapshot puts you outside the version covered here.
- Use a separate game folder and begin with a new test world. Do not replace your regular saves with files from the experiment.

How should you compare the visuals?
Keep the viewing direction and settings comparable. Change one graphics option at a time and record resolution, render distance and active resource packs. This makes it easier to identify which setting accounts for the difference you see.
Does this build add ice caves?
Its published list does not include the new cave or frozen zombie additions. A reveal is not an installation instruction; the upcoming-features article below separates those announcements.
