What's in the Legends Update?
Mojang revealed the update on October 21 with a 72-second trailer on the official Minecraft YouTube channel. Here's what it adds:
| New | Details |
|---|---|
| Fighters | Bardock, Teen Gohan, Gotenks, Vegito |
| Custom Tournament | Build your own bracket, up to 8 players |
| Story Mode | 4 new fights continue the story |
| Alternate outfits | 11 new versions of the original characters, unlocked by playing |
There are new battle areas too, though the trailer doesn't name them. The outfits pop with a "New Outfit Unlocked" banner, so you earn them in play rather than buy them.

How does Custom Tournament work?
With Legends you set up your own tournament for up to 8 players, shown in the trailer as a big knockout bracket, which is all you need for a knockout Tenkaichi Budokai night with friends.

On console, multiplayer tournaments, co-op and PvP need your platform's online subscription (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo). Mojang's note doesn't list an extra subscription for PC or mobile.
How much is the Dragon Ball Z DLC?
The DLC launched October 30, 2025 on Minecraft Marketplace. The Xbox Store lists it at $8.99 in the US; check Marketplace in game for your local price. No separate price was announced for the Legends Update.
The big catch: it's Bedrock Edition only. Java Edition has no Marketplace, so there's no Dragon Ball Z on Java. Per the trailer's fine print, you need the latest version of Minecraft to get the update.
Who was already in the DLC?
Launch fighters were Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Frieza, Trunks, Krillin, Android 18, Cell, Android 17 and Majin Buu, some with Super Saiyan forms. You unlock each one by beating them in a fight. Arenas include the Cell Games and Namek, with Capsule Corporation as your hub.
