Which platforms is it on, and is there crossplay?
The game launched September 29, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Windows and Steam. Crossplay covers all of them; technical director Stefan Annell calls the goal "one-click crossplay", so there's nothing to toggle.
Can you mix couch co-op and online?
Yes, and that's the big change from the first game, where couch co-op was offline only. In Dungeons II a group on one device can take the session online and let remote friends in, still capped at 4 players.

How do party codes work?
- The party host shares the party code shown on screen: 8 characters, letters and numbers.
- Your friend opens the "join by party code" dialog and enters it.
- They drop straight into the lobby or the game in progress, whatever platform they are on.
The in-game friends list is still there. If nobody's around, matchmaking fills empty slots using core quest progress, region and power level, and it can put you into a session that's already running.
Does my hero carry over to another device?
Hero data lives on the game's servers. Where the platform supports it, sign in with your own account on a friend's console and keep your hero. Moving between platforms? Link both accounts to the same Microsoft account.
Online play now runs on dedicated servers instead of the party leader's machine, and the server is picked from everyone's ping. A host with a weak connection no longer drags the whole group down. Online and offline stay separate modes.
